R. Michael Sims, President and CEO of Farmers & Merchants Bank, is pleased to announce the addition of Fred H. Beshears to The Bank's Board of Directors.
Sims commented, "Fred Beshears is not only a well respected businessman in Monticello, but throughout his industry as well. Most recently, he was selected as the Jim Moran Institute at Florida State University "Entrepreneur of the Year" recipient. He will be a tremendous addition to our Board of Directors.
Beshears is President and owner of Simpson Nurseries in Monticello, Florida which is entering its 107th year of continuous operations and is one of the largest nurseries in the southeast, specializing in the production of fruit, shade, pecan and ornamental flowering trees as well as evergreen trees and shrubs. Simpson Nurseries supplies mass merchandisers, independent nurserymen and landscapers primarily in the contiguous southeastern states from Virginia to Texas.
In addition to his service to FMB, Beshears has served as a director and officer for Vision 2020 Venture Capital Fund, the National Pecan Growers Association, Southeastern Pecan Growers Association, Florida Pecan Growers, Farm Foundation and Northwest Florida Farm Credit Association.
